I have two other more expensive umbrellas-one from Frontgate which has caused me so many problems. I’ll probably get rid of it now. The other is a Tucci Umbrella-very pricey-which is good, but so heavy and hard to move despite the wheels on the base. I will always buy the Treasure Garden umbrellas from now on!

The pole umbrella sleve is open at the bottom, so water can't sit in there and make the wooden umbrella pole swell. I got the "art deco" design and it looks elegant in bronze finish!

It is absolutely gorgeous, well-made with beautiful details. The problem is that it was shipped in the flimsiest box you can imagine, with barely any padding inside. So, of course, the box fell apart during shipment (50 lbs of metal!) and the piece arrived with several scratches where the bright silver metal shone through. It is not a standard finish, either, so it was impossible to find an exact match for the paint at the hardware store. I touched it up as best I could and turned the worst part toward the wall. Other than that, I would be 100% satisfied. Maybe if the umbrella ever arrives, I can tell if the base actually works.

We were concerned about how this umbrella would ride out our wind storms when it was not in use. It's no unusually to see the tree next door whipping furiously while our umbrella is hardly showing any signs of a breeze. It provides ample shade when it is open, and the operation is easy. We find we can comfortably sit on our patio in temperatures around the mid-eighties, even in full sun (while under the umbrella). We could not be happier. Thanks.

I would not want anything even one ounce below 50# for the 7.5-foot umbrella I ordered, but that is not something that this product can be blamed for. I do believe it weighs 50#. I have not had it long enough to know how the finish wears. I am considering purchasing the additional weight that is available to bolt to the underside of this.

So I purchased this base, which is a bit heavier than my previous base, and it has a longer post that the umbrella inserts into. So far so good! My umbrella has not budged. I don't know how well the base will hold up over time, or if it will rust, but right now it works and looks great.
