Don't tuck chairs in too tight; or, you can't appreciate gorgeous pedestal. We use 4 side chairs around table for everyday and bought extra 2 chairs for corners of room. A little tight for 6. Leaf is heavy, but easy to install with perfect fit. With leaf and 4 more "card table" chairs, can squeeze 10 peeps.
