Hooker Furniture uses carefully chosen solid wood and select wood veneers over durable wood products in our furniture construction. Use of veneers enables more decorative looks unattainable with solid wood. Veneers are used over durable wood products such as medium density fiberboard (MDF) and particle board, made of renewable resources. MDF and particle board are used in quality furniture for areas that need to be stable, such as large surfaces. These durable wood products do not expand and contract with heat and cold and do not absorb moisture as much as solid wood, which results in stronger and longer-lasting furniture.

Detroit, MI 1-4-2018I love everything about this dining room set. It is just as beautiful in person as is photographed. Table is VERY long. I only used one leaf. I purchased the irregular count of 5 side chairs (as shown) which allow you to showcase the table design. Chairs are nice heavy solid wood with intricate detail. Table has beautiful detail on the top and bottom. The curio cabinets are also beautiful and unique with a warped glass look which adds to the antique look. The end chairs are of great fabric and quality as well. Please note, although shown as a bunch of 3, the curio bunching is not sold in a set of 3. The price is for one cabinet. I was disappointed when I only received one curio cabinet. My dining room currently is not complete :-(. Aside from that misunderstanding everything else is great.
